Markus Pajtler
Screenwriter & DirectorNot many people have ever heard of the town Markus grew up in. That’s why he always says “In the Ruhr Area”.
Now, that’s not very precise, but German people think of: Industrial wasteland, football, concrete – and feel they know enough. Markus never wanted a job sitting at a desk and staring at a computer screen for hours. That’s why he writes his scripts everywhere – but at his desk. He thinks that’s a good compromise.
It’s not uncommon for friends who have seen his movie collection say he is a movie nerd. They are probably right in a way. So he just lets it go.
For many years now, Markus lives in Berlin. It’s not as nice as his hometown, but a plus is, everyone knows Berlin.
